Communicating via secure e-mail with the Medicines Authority
The Medicines Authority introduced a new messaging technology known as Transport Layer Security (TLS) which allows stakeholders to communicate securely with the Authority.
Organisations wishing to communicate through secure e-mail are encouraged to set up TLS on their e-mail servers. When such technology is installed, data traffic between the Authority's Microsoft Exchange Server and the communicating-partner's e-mail server is encrypted using advanced AES-256 technology. Moreover, the encryption process is transparent to the user.
Technical information about TLS under Exchange Server can be found at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123543(v=exchg.141).aspx. General information about TLS can be accessed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security.
Stakeholders having any queries can contact the Medicines Authority by sending an e-mail to info.medicinesauthority@gov.mt.
