Mission Statement
The mission of
the Medicines Authority is the protection
of public health in Malta through the regulation of the
medicinal products and pharmaceutical activities.
Objectives
The Medicines Authority
achieves its mission through performance of the duties
delegated to it by the Licensing Authority through the
Medicines Act:
The regulation of the safety,
quality and efficacy of medicinal products for sale or supply
on the Maltese market and the EU market
The authority is committed to
providing high quality licensing, monitoring and inspection
service for pharmaceutical activities, to enforce the relevant
legislation
The Authority is responsible
for post licensing safety monitoring through
pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reporting
Monitoring of advertising of
medicinal products.
